OUR PURPOSE
Our Commitment
We are committed to being accountable to parents and the school district we serve. We are devoted to giving parents an opportunity to provide direct input on policies, programs, practices, and services that have an impact on students with disabilities and their families. We promote change that presents the best solutions for our special needs community and the West Orange School District. Continuing to support the areas the Special Services Department does well and helping them to strengthen areas where there is need of improvement.

Our Mission
Parents are the heart beat of our organization, and our mission is to collectively serve the systemic needs of families with children of special needs. We collaboratively work with the West Orange Board of Education to improve educational outcomes and the well-being of all students, including those with disabilities, help identify unmet needs; help shape the development of programs, services, and policies; and improve district culture and climate.

Our Vision
Our vision is to see a strong and effective special services program in the West Orange school district; run by a dedicated staff and well trained professionals. And where all parents, regardless of ethnic background, sexual orientation, or religion, feel safe to seek services for their children and welcomed as a part of the West Orange community. We believe in a special services program that is accountable, transparent, and treats each parent with a standard of care, and serves each child as an individual.
